Purpose

INCORPORATION AND PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION

The West Coast Cricket Organization was incorporated on October 13, 2004 under the provisions of the Society Act of British Columbia. The Association carries on business under the assumed name of Cricket BC.

The purposes of the Association are to:

  1. Promote, foster and develop the playing of the amateur sport of cricket throughout the Province of British Columbia;

  2. Promote and develop the playing of cricket in schools and generally among the youth of the Province of British Columbia;

  3. Take all steps necessary or desirable to regulate the sport of cricket throughout the Province of British Columbia;

  4. Select cricket teams to compete against other teams in Canada and elsewhere;

  5. Affiliate with or otherwise become a member of the Canadian Cricket Association of any other body which governs the playing of cricket in Canada;

  6. Acquire by purchase, lease, license, gift or otherwise to hold as owner, lessee, licensee, or otherwise any properties both real and personal, including moneys, as may be considered suitable for the general purposes of the Association and the same to administer, develop, operate, apply and expand for general purpose of the Society.
